A few quick comments

The inmates seem to be running the asylum today, so I'm just going to dash this off before I take them out for their daily airing.

1) It's R&B week for American Idol next week. I'm gonna go ahead and admit that I am not a fan of R&B - not even a little bit. I suppose I do like Aretha Franklin and the Isley Brothers who are on the official list, but I'd have called them something else. Maybe I just don't like modern R&B, but I'm anticipating lots of overwrought vocals on songs way too big for the people singing them.

Is it too much to hope for that someone sings This Old Heart of Mine? Please?

Here's the list of approved songs if you feel like making a pool for who'll pick what... not that I know anyone who might do something like that...

2) I'm officially 1/4th of the way through my first draft - even a little over. Yay.

3) It's raining. But this is Seattle, so that's not really news.

4) Boop just asked for breakfast. This will be her third breakfast. Although I suppose by now I could call it lunch.

5) If you don't hear from me again, the little people have tied me up and thrown me in the closet. If it were going to happen, this is the day for it.

LOL that is great! now that my used to be youngest before the big surprise is in kindergarten, it's dinner that's the meal he has four times :D.
Before that, he'd try to convince me that he hadn't eaten anything. If I reminded him of what it was that he ate, he would promptly tell me that "that doesn't count."

Hope your day calmed down and that the rain drizzles over your spring garden LOL I live on the east side of the Cascades and I'm loving our weather :D Although, it did try to rain today, now is the perfect time for it.

I love rainy days. But we have gorgeous sun today - and it's a refreshing relief from the long, cold winter we've had.

Hope you survived the day ok! ;-)

All we have to do is pick the 10 worst, overplayed songs on the list and that will be what they're singing. Bah!

Jen - LOL! I made it through the day and was only figuratively shaking in the corner. Calling that a win!

Leona - They are so clever in their mealtime shenanigans!

Melissa - We didn't have much of a winter. I think I only had to scrape ice twice. Kind of disappointing after being snowed in last year!

Rob - I know you're right. I looked at the list and thought - great, it's a train wreck waiting to happen. :( Last week was atrocious.

Oh, Lee was one of my favorites, tonight. Seemed to come out of nowhere, I think. R&B really isn't my thing either.

Hoping you are not now hogtied with a sock stuffed into your mouth and little munchkins ready to roast you for dinner.

(BTW, my 3 year old asks for breakfast all day long and for pancaes every single morning. As crazy and wild as these little ones can be, they sure can be predictable sometimes.)

Just saw you were working on a YA steampunk! You're the 2nd person I've come across working on one! I think adult steampunk is more common, but I love the idea of steampunk in YA. I write YA as well, but I don't think I could ever do steampunk. But I'm really getting into it as a consumer. Just saw Sherlock Holmes tonight, and thought I don't think it's technically Steampunk, it definitely had a steampunk feel to it.

And yes, that was totally random. Haha.

Ok, so I think we have some things in common, which I'm digging as well. Now a follower ;)

Carolina - Thank you for following! I kept hearing about Steampunk, and when I looked it up I realized I'd loved it for years, I just didn't know it had a name. ;) I really hope I can pull off this book because it's so fun to write about - I'd love to stay in this genre for a while.

What kind of YA do you write? Off to check out your blog...
