I'm working on getting Boop to respond with, "Yes, ma'am."
I'm not southern, but I like that it conveys one has heard and (hopefully) understood what has been asked of them, and will comply. This is especially important in Boop. Also, the school my kids go to requires it and we'd better start soon with this one. Plus, if she ever wants to try out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, she's gonna have to know how to say it, if "Making the Team" is any indication! OK, so that point's less important.
But, in classic Boop fashion... she's turned it on me. I can hear her singing from the other room at the top of her lungs:
"Yes, Ma'am" is a good thing to say!
"Yes, Ma'am" is gooooood!
"Do you want a poodle?" "Yes, ma'am!"
*sigh*

LOL That's too cute.
December 7, 2009 at 8:42 PMBTW be very careful. I have a friend who required it of her kids and it is now their byword for not paying attention, but she is clueless (I lived with them for 2 months and saw it in action!) because of the 'idea' that it is respectful.
My children would definitely take advantage! They are precocious and use semantics to get what they want!
Good luck with the poodle LOL
so so funny
December 8, 2009 at 3:48 PMOh, I'm sure they could turn against me with it. But my little girl is a tornado that swirls through the house on a path of destruction and I need *some* indication that she's heard me and intends to obey. If she doesn't follow through, then that will be another conversation. ;)
